Sub-Regional Trails and Natural Spaces
RDNO Trails and Natural Spaces includes the acquisition, construction, maintenance and operation of Sub-Regional trails and open spaces in the North Okanagan region including:
• Swan Lake Nature Reserve
• Ranchlands Park – Buchanan Road
• Grey Canal Trail
• BX Creek Trail
• Vernon Creek Trail
• Middleton Mountain Trail
• Kal Crystal Waters Trail
• Okanagan Rail Trail
Greater Vernon Athletics Park
Operated and maintained through an agreement with the District of Coldstream.
Greater Vernon Community Gardens
The Greater Vernon Community Garden network includes three gardens:
- East Hill (Shantz Rd) Community Garden – Area C
- West Vernon Community Garden – City of Vernon
- Patchwork Community Garden – District of Coldstream
Indoor Soccer Centre and Okanagan Boys and Girls Club
The Indoor Soccer Centre is owned by the RDNO and managed by the Vernon Soccer Association through a contract for services. The Boys and Girls Club building is located in the Recreation Complex, and the property is owned by the City of Vernon but under license by the RDNO. The Club manages the building under a facility use agreement and receives an annual grant from the RDNO.
